Frederick Neumann papers

Abstract

Frederick (Friedrich) Neumann was a Jewish philosophy scholar from Austria who converted to Christianity in the 1920s, emigrated to the United States, and became a Congregational minister and visiting professor at Hartford Seminary. Edith Spitzer Neumann was a bacteriologist and microbiologist. This collection consists of his academic and professional papers and records from her successful work to translate and publish his sermons.

Horton Davies papers

The collection consists of papers and mixed media from the academic and professional careers of Davies. Included are Davies course notebooks from his doctoral study at Oxford University, essays and sermons from his ministry in South Africa and elsewhere, and course and lecture notebooks on worship, theology and the arts from his tenure at Princeton University. Also here are slides, photos, and prints to accompany and illustrate those lectures and a course on Christian art.

The Abraham Kuyper Political Cartoon Collection

Abstract

Abraham Kuyper is best known for his strong leadership, including four years as prime minister, of the major center-right, Protestant political party of the Netherlands from 1879 to 1920. Kuyper was also the foremost Calvinist proponent and intellectual of the late nineteenth century Netherlands. This collection contains large prints of political cartoons that feature Abraham Kuyper.

This collection consists of personal correspondence between the Fergusson family and friends, business correspondence between Dr. Fergusson and colleagues, a collection of Dr. Fergusson's published articles, as well as scrapbooks. There is also a large collection of articles and pamphlets pertaining to the temperance movement, Sabbath laws, and Sunday School.
